Value Guard Anti-Rust Coating
ValuGard anti-rust coating is a line of rust-proofing products used by manufacturers and for aftermarket applications to protect vehicle bodies from corrosion caused by moisture and road salt. The coatings are available in various forms, such as pliable asphalt-based undercoatings that dry hard and remain flexible, and cavity waxes designed to penetrate and protect internal body cavities. ValuGard products offer corrosion protection, can provide sound dampening, and are available with warranty options for qualified new vehicles.
Key features and benefits
Corrosion protection: Formulated to protect against moisture, road salt (magnesium and calcium chlorides), and other corrosive elements.
Undercoating: A black, asphalt-cutback, solvent-based undercoating is available that provides a durable, pliable, and tack-free finish to the underbody and wheel wells. It won't freeze, crack, or "pocket" like some rubberized coatings.
Cavity wax: The VG-180 product is a cavity wax that is sprayed into vehicle body cavities and internal spaces using a flexible wand to protect against rust.
Sound deadening: A thicker application of the undercoating can provide sound-deadening insulation.
Warranty: New vehicles can qualify for a warranty against rust, with different terms available depending on the vehicle's age and condition.
Self-healing properties: Some formulas have self-healing properties to prevent moisture from getting behind the coating if it is chipped.
Manufacturer and OEM use: The products are used by automobile manufacturers, commercial fleets, and other vehicle-related industries.
